Enjoy our monthly meetings.

We are a friendly society who offer a big welcome to new members.

The membership subscripton is £18.00 per year and covers a single or double membership for a couple living at the same address. We meet ten times a year at the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Harlow Carr Harrogate in the modern facilites of the Bramall Learning Centre the remainder of the meetings are held Beckwithshaw Village Hall. One meeting consists of a field trip to see orchids growing in the wild.There is no meeting in December and we hold our  annual lunch in January.

Orchids in the wild and in the garden.


Please bring your plants for the usual table displey.


There will be a discussion hosted by one of our members about the table display.

Annual Show


Our annual show will be held at the Pavilions in Harrogate at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 8QZ to be held on

Sunday 25th February 2018

 opening times 10.30am to 4.00pm

There will be orchid plants for sale, orchid sundries and craft stalls.

Details will be posted on the web site later in the year

Harrogate Orchid Society Annual show at the Britannia Hotel Bramhope, Leeds.

There will be no separate meeting this month. Set-up 25th February 4.00pm.

23rd April


Orchid workshop day which will be an all day event to be held in the Sunley room Learning Centre at Harlow Carr Gardens, Harrogate, HG3 1UE.

10.00am - 4.00 pm


This event is open to the public.


There will be potting demonstrations and plant problem clinic plus lots of cultural advice from Harrogate Orchid Society members.

There will also be an orchid display by members.

In addition there will be two talks:

11am: 'How Orchids are different'.

2pm: How to Grow Orchids on Your Windowsill'


Society members are asked to support this event and provde plants to mount a display.

'Orchids for Everyone Weekend'

To be held in the Bramall Learning Centre, this is a joint event organised by the Harrogate Orchid Society and The Royal Horticultural Society. There will be talks and potting demontrations throughout the weekend.

This event is also being supported by the North of England Orchid Society and the Darlington and District Orchid Society, who will both be staging orchid displays.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10.00am until 4.00pm. each day.

Harrogate Orchid Society members will be available each day to give advice on orchid culture.

The Royal Horticultural Society Orchid Committee will be attending, orchid growers are invited to put forward their plants to the committee to be judged and considered for an award. The RHS Orchid Committee will convene at 1.30 pm.

Members please note there will not be a separate meeting this month.

There will be three free talks during the weekend  open to the public and Society members- details to follow
